The wrong GUY!

The story of Guy Goma is not one of stupidity. A former taxi driver from the French Congo, Mr Goma was at the BBC TV centre for an interview, in the hope of becoming an IT assistant. So when a producer came up to him and said, “Guy Kewney, isn't it? About the IT thing?" he agreed because he thought she had just pronounced his surname badly.

Mr Goma was rushed into a studio, where he found himself in front of the cameras, having questions thrown at him. He didn't expect at all that the guy who would be sitting on a nearby sofa was also called Guy. In fact, Guy Kewney was an IT expert and so he was going to be interviewed by BBC.

Resultat d'imatges de the wrong guy bbc newGoma says that before joining the studio, what the people from BBC were doing to him weren't normal but he told himself that it might be part of the interview. So once he knew the TV channel had made a mistake he tried to answer all questions and stayed calm.

Viewers of this channel have reacted with a mixture of delight and sympathy to the key moment when Mr Goma was introduced with the incorrect name. Nevertheless, after this big mistake, he was finally taken to his interview for the IT post. He didn't get the job but is now a demand as a celebrity.

The first time I saw this news I couldn't stop laughing. It was very funny to see an innocent man who was going into an interview for applying a job (that he couldn't get at the end) and was taken to a studio as he were an IT expert. Poor man! Even if he managed to answer some questions, his face when we was being interviewed was... there's no words to describe that face. Here is the video that shows his face and a little summary of this story.

In this case, I haven't learnt any new words.  You can read more about it here

A strange hotel

Japan is known, among other things, for its strange inventions such as musical toilets and 3D printed fake food replicas. Now, they have surpassed themselves creating a hotel run entirely by robots in Nagasaki. In this hotel, called Henn-na Hotel (“Strange Hotel”), robots will guide you to your room, clean it, bring your luggage into it… Also, thanks to internal sensors and an adaptive artificial intelligence, these humanoid robots will maintain eye contact with you, blink, breathe and answer your questions. They can speak in Japanese, Chinese, Korean and English.

In addition, this hotel has door locks that use face-recognition technology on guests, Iphone's X technology. Also, room temperatures are controlled by body heat sensors that will automatically adjust comfort levels.

japan-robot-hotel-1

The use of robots and the automated services is done to reduce labor costs, save energy, reduce waste and develop a self-sufficient hotel powered by solar energy and machines. The hotel has 144 rooms and the price for staying a night there is $73.

In my opinion, I found this a very interesting, fascinating (and a bit strange) thing. It’s an original and different hotel, not very expensive and the rooms are nice. But, I think this is a little bit creepy. In addition, it’s always nice to walk into a hotel and receive a smile from the receptionist, not an artificial “hello” without feelings. Also, there are a lot of people without a job, and if we keep putting robots doing human’s jobs there will be even more people being unemployed. Robots are replacing people, and I don’t think this is a great idea.

Stephen Hawking: AI could end up with humans.

Stephen Hawking is a very important Physic-Mathematic who has worked his whole life cosmology and univerasl origin projects. Now that he is older he has been working on quite philosophical problems that may be createb by science, or may affect its action. An example of this fact would be the artificial inteligence. This human creation also known as AI consists on giving intelligence to something which hasn't been born in a natural way. With every single statement that comes out from his mouth, he clearly shows his rejectment to this part of the scientific development. He purposes that this androids or cyborgs will end up with humanity. The fact that we give intelligence to something that can improve itself it's dangerous because if we give them a conscience we are giving them an instinct, and the first of all the instinct "laws" is that the strongest controls the weakest. This is why Hawkings thinks that if we create inmortal creatures, made of steel and for militar purposes they are going to develop their missions against their creators who try to reduce the limits of their self improvement, the humans.
I think that humans, now, want to keep on a progressing way that is just used for destroying capabilities. If you go to the technological department of some newspapers, they just talk about robots created with militar purposes. This is what I think that is very dangerous. Robots with killing capabilities may not be able to decide if they kill or not, or even to auto improve themselves but this, by now, is seen as positive progress. We have created this beings with our own mistakes rather than our capabilities, so they will tend to make the same mistakes we used to. Let's consider a prehistorical example. Homo Sapiens was nothing more than brutal mutant of Homo neanderthalensis species. It was quite more developed so it could easily improve better than his brother in arms. We all know the end of this story now, because there are no neanderthals in our society (not in the evolutive way at least).

To sum up, I completely disagree with the development of AI, and I think that humans may not give their concessions to things created with their same standards.

Ayslam denied

This news is about two boys who asked for asylum in the US, but they were refused. One of them had been threatened by some gang members; they said they were going to kill him. In front of this situation, the boy decided to leave his home and go to the United States. When he and another boy were at the US border, they explained their situations to the officials, but they didn’t seem to care that much and told them to wait outside. They waited all day long, until one lawyer who was crossing the border with another client saw them and help them.

The worst of all is that this is not an isolated case, but the number of cases is increasing, especially since Trump became the president of the United States. In theory, the law says that if someone arrives at the border asking for asylum, CBP agents have to send the person to a specialist to examine his or her situation, but this is not always like that. More and more, US agents are illegally denying entrance to people asking for asylum.

Even though these prohibitions are increasing, they are not only a result of Trump’s policy, but they were there before he came to power. The writer of that news says that this is a serious problem and that the government has to do something about it. They have to investigate and punish the agents who have behaved illegally.
This news shows the violation of one human right: the right to have asylum. As it says, everybody has the right to have asylum in cases of danger, no matter where they come from. Of course, I am against what these US agents are doing to people who ask for asylum. Imagine you're in their situation. That in your country you have been threatened with death and then when you ask for asylum they deny it. But what upsets me the most is why the US agents do not let Mexican people pass it because of racist reasons. Unfortunately, there are a lot of racist people in the USA (and in the world too), as it shows the fact that Trump is the president. I hope one day we get over racism, which is one of the main reason why most of the human rights are not coming into effect right now.

SpaceX to Fly Passengers On Private Trip Around the Moon in 2018

The new explains that two unnamed people have already paid for places in a trip that will take them around the moon, but without landing. So late next year they will fly with SpaceX.

Many people are fascinated about the possibility of being able to travel to space in less than three years, it will be available for everyone who can afford it. But it is expected the cost of the space travel will eventually come down and become something which is affordable to more than only the very wealthy.

Traveling to the space is not easy, they have warned that that it is a week of hard travel and it could feel like a long time in a small capsule which is for seven people and it will feel small even if just two or three are traveling there.

Also the ones that want to travel to the space have to support a long training programme of two years before they are allowed. Tourist will need to know how to operate key parts of the spacecraft in the case that there is an emergency or issue in communication with the mission control and they will be able to keep themselves and the spacecraft safe.

I will really like to travel to the moon but I don’t think it is enjoyable to be in a very small capsule for a week. It’s a great idea that they allow citizens to take these amazing trips to the space, but I hope one day the prices are low enough for everyone to travel to the moon and not just the very wealthy.

The new word I learned from the news has been spacecraft

What I love and I hate about the weather in my country

All countries around the world have different weather. Likely, here, in Spain, the weather is very good. It's usually hot in summer and cold in winter. Would other countries like Switzerland have the weather?

Resultat d'imatges de weather
I think that having this climate is perfect. For example, when summer comes to us, it means that we can begin going to the beach as it's always sunny. Also, school classes finish and that's a good point for students (myself included!). So it is at this moment when you meet your friends and can have fun.

However, there are some negative aspects about the weather in my country. The place where I live, Empuriabrava, is a zone located in the north-east of Spain. Because of our location, we have a kind of wind called "tramuntana". "Tramuntana" is horrendous, in my opinion. Once it comes, everybody seems crazy and that's why we often say that this kind of wind affects our body, because of our behaviour. Sometimes, it rains, but I don't consider that a negative point. When I'm sad, the sound of the water drops help me to relax.

So I can honestly say that we can't disagree with the weather we have. Most of the countries around the world would like to have it, central europe countries for example.

The firefighters

In this case I'd like to talk about the job of the firefighters. I think their job is amazing even if they work less, if we compare it with other common jobs. Some people say that their job shouldn't be as remunerated as it is and that's why I would like to comment.

First of all, their job provides us a service, as most of the jobs that exist in the planet. Their objective is to provide us security and to try to avoid damage that affects to nature. Of course, they try to put out fires. The problem that some people see in their job is the money they get; they get between 29.000 and 42.000 euros per year in Catalunya. It may seem a big amount of money keeping in mind that they work, for example, three months of the twelve that a year has. But, I think that this as well paid as it is because their job is really hard and they risk their lifes. We have to keep in mind that a fire is a thing that can happens at any point of the day so they must be prepared to attend to any fire (at least they should). Also, working on these disasters require people who have a good physical condition. The events they have to beat aren't easy. Firefighters, to access to the firefighter's school, have to have, of course, knowledge about medical processes, languages (because they can be send to any part of the EU- in case they take the "oposicions" in Spain-). Another challenge they have to achieve is driving weight vehicles such as fire trucks. As most of the jobs, to get into the school these people have to sit an exam. Once one has completed the seven phases he becomes a firefighter.

So now that you have heard a little of it, what do you think about firefighters and their job?

The influence of technology in our society

As most of us know, technologies are very important in our society. Technology helps us in lots of ways. This is why I'm going to ask you a question: We humans, can we live without our mobile phones? And, are we supposed to live without them nowadays? Of course we cannot.

The first statement I have to explain the influence in our society is this one. How many of us are wearing a mobile phone instead of a watch? The answer is very simple: convenience. A mobile phone can provide us lots of utilities like searching extra information, the ease of communicating other people... while a watch only informs us about the time. That's why lots of schools/high schools are thinking about applying a new technological educative system where the learning is provided by these new technologies. Of course, using mobiles phones or even tablets at school implies a few risks such as private photos or just the bad use of it.

A part from the school use, we can find all around the wall (except poor countries). Technology also include videogames. Videogames is one of the most important arts of the world. Lots of people are absorbed by them Most of the times you are playing videogames, you are not paying attention at what is happening outside that virtual world. This is a negative aspect of the influence of technologies. The same way it happens with our smartphones. When we are getting bored and we don't know what to do, we usually pick up our phone and open Instagram to see others people lives. That's another reason of why we cannot love without these technologies. It's miserable but is true.

Nevertheless, if technology didn't exist, human age wouldn’t have improved as much as it has developed. That's why I think we have to keep on progressing in technology terms. But, as the use of technology is increasing, we have to control it to not becoming an addict.

Online shopping

Internet is everytime offering more and more facilities. Shopping is one of the activities that is becomind more popular to do online, but is it really an adavantadge or it has more cons than pros?

Resultat d'imatges de online shoppingFirst of all, shopping on the Internet can be a good option in terms of convenience because you don't need to leave your house and this can be useful for people who don't have much time or for those ones who can't go and buy in the shops for any reason. Also, it broads your possibilities because it allows you tu buy things that are not sold close to where you live.
Also, on the Internet you can sometimes find the products cheaper than they are in a regular shop, so you can save some money. However, you may have to pay the shipping costs (in some cases it can still end up being cheaper).

On the other hand, however, shopping online can be a bit risky. First of all, you can't be sure if the web page in which you are shopping can be trustable. It can be a good online shop and you can get your products perfectly in the way you wanted, but there's also the possibility of paying and then never getting your purchase . Secondly, shopping online doesn't allow you to really see what you are buying. On the Internet there will be a photo, but it can be retouched or it can be a photo of a different product. And also, even if the photo is real, you can only see the product through a photo, you cannot see it and judge it in real life. This means that when you get the product it might not be what you were expecting as it can't turn out to be a different thing.

In conclusion, I do agree in the convenience of online shopping offers, as well as all the different possibilities and advantadges, but it is also important to keep in mind all the disadvantadges it has and its consequences. From my point of view, it's okay to buy some things on the Internet, but not everything. In this way, you continue buying things that are not necessary to be bought online in regular shops. On the Internet you can buy, for example, things that maybe are only sold in different countries, or things that can be trustable, for example books, that you can be sure it will be the same quality as if you buy it in a shop. But in other cases, I think it's better to buy them on a regular shop, so you can exactly see and be aware of what you are buying.

Review of Gap Year

A few months ago, we watched the first episode of the britih series called Gap year. Gap Year is a comedy-drama series that follows the adventure of a group of backpackers taking a trip through Asia. The first episode of this short episode talks about Dylan and Sean, Dylan's highschool friend who didn't go to the University, taking a gap year. their journey begins in China. Sean thinks that they are on vacation to escape from their quotidanes lifes but this isn't the reason. They were there because of Dylan's ex-girlfriend: he wanted to get back with her. Once they arrive to Beijing, they meet Ashley, Greg and May at a public bathrroms. In there, Dylan leaves his money there, in the bathroom, so these 3 new characrters pick up all the money and spend a big part. A few hours later, all five get together unexpexctdly and Greg returns the money to Dylan. Since that moment, they join together and assist to a festival at the Great Wall of China. During the festval, Seans gets split from the grup because of a fight and he is kipnapped.

Users Reviews

  • The characters are great, felt so relatable and the story is different each episode, hope there is a season two. It kept me laughing through all 8 episodes , Instead of getting stale like a lot of different television series I feel as though it improved as the series progressed and after watching I always felt happier the amazing locations and stories along with it paired together to make an amazing new series.

  • Based on this first episode, Gap Year’s emphasis is probably more on the drama than the comedy. The show is very much plot driven, and the viewer wants to find out what happens next as the action unfolds. Based clearly learned a thing or two from writing on The Wrong Mans. And the first episode ends one a great cliffhanger – even if it is immediately ruined by E4 showing scenes from the second episode indicating the outcome.

  • Overall, there’s an appealing ironic undertone, and a knowingness to the fact the characters often aren’t fully immersed in the world they came looking for. After going to great pains to watch a sunrise over the Great Wall Of China, comes the question: ‘How much longer are we going to spend looking at it?

  • In Gap Year, absolutely everyone appears lost as this bunch of westerners try to stay safe and remain sane in the deeply unfamiliar environs of modern China. Friendships are strained, loves are challenged, parties need to be attended, and selves await to be discovered.

My own opinion

When we watched the first chapter, I enjoyed it because it kept my attention. Although, I don't know if what we saw is possible. Of course it is, but is not as easy as is shown in the series. The fact of going on a Gap Year without having anything planed is a bit dangerous as you don't have any place to stay in. You have to "survive" with your money and it is not unlimited. And, in case you lose the money, how are you going to continue your adventure? Of course you can ask for some help but then you won't be independent, you will be "dependent of". In addition, what would happen if you get lost? How are you going to get back? So, there are lots of questions that would have a negative view of a Gap Year. So let's say that as the Gap Year of the main characters it's okay because is a series and so provide entertainment. But, as a real situation, I would doubt if everything will be okay.

The Blue Whale: a game or a challenge?

This news is about a new challenge that makes the person who is playing commit suicide after 50 days. This challenge is known as the Blue Whale, and it is quite famous in Russia. It is believed to be an online social media group, in which there is an administrator that gives daily challenges to the members. In total, there are 50 (one each day) and they consist of watching extreme horror movies, getting up at unusual hours, self-harming… They gradually get more and more extreme, until the last challenge is to commit suicide.

Yulia Konstantinova, 15, joined her friend Veronika in jumping from the roof of a 14-storey block of flats
The photo that Yulia posted moments ago before her dead
One of the reasons teenagers follow this type of challenges is because of pressure. Sometimes, friends incite  them to take dangerous experiences, but kids have to know how and when to say “no”. Parents have an important role in teaching their kids than they can still be accepted even if they don’t do exactly what the other friends do.

There have been about 130 suicides of children between November 2015 and April 2016, which can be related to this challenge. It is not proved, but there exist multiple bonds between almost all these teenagers, for example, most of them were members of the same internet groups and lived in good and happy families. Among these suicides, it stands out the case of two teenagers, Yulia Konstantinova and Veronika Volkova, 15 and 16 respectively, who jumped from a roof of a 14-floor building. Yulia, before committing suicide, posted a picture of a blue whale in her Instagram.

My opinion

The first time I read this news, the first thing it came to my mind was: “Who can be so sick to create this challenge?”. Because, behind all these challenges there has to be a person creating them. Encouraging people to commit suicide, especially when they are going through a bad period in their lives is really mean. We should try to help depressed people to overcome it and be happy.
I hope this stupid game won't last for many years more. I can understang those people who like taking risks in their lifes, such as those ones who go bungee jumping, but what I can't understand is how come the people who play this game come to the conclusion of ending their own lifes.

New words

Bookstore on Wheels Turns Heads in Baghdad

Ali al-Moussawi, the owner of a mobile library truck, arranges his books on a street in Baghdad, Iraq, April 16, 2017.In Baghdad, a man named Ali al-Moussawi turned his van into a mobile bookshop and makes up to $4,000 a month as he sells books around the city. His bookshop has done well and with his success, he hired four people to help him.

Al-Moussawi said that it took him nine months to achieve his idea and he hopes that it will bring people’s attention to and promote reading. He said that he wants to develop his bookshop and ‘improve its current shape’.

As he moves his van, he changes the books that are on display. This is because the city is still divided and in Sunni areas, the books on Saddam Hussein are still popular.

My opinion
I've chosen this news because when I saw the title of this piece of news, it kept my atention and I wanted to know about it. So, related to this news, I've never heard about something like this before. I mean, I have seen people selling food in vans, but nothing to do with books. I think it's a very good idea to sell books in a van which goes around the city. It beneffits everybody: the owner of the books, Al-Moussawi, earns lots f money and it's also a good point for those who enjoy reading. Instead of walking to "the library", "the library" comes to you!

I don't know if someoe had already done this lucrative activity before the arabic man did, but I'm 100% sure that he has find a job in which he earns a lot of money and also enjoys his job.

In this case, I've learnt two new words: bookworm (a person who enjoys books) and Sunni (a religious group within Islam)

Should be cars banned in the centres of the cities?

Nowadays, most people have their own car. In a survey that was carried out here in Spain, most of those who were asked said that they couldn’t live without a car. It would be too difficult for us them to go to anywhere because of the madding crowd.

It's true that cars are a must in people's life but at the same they are a major factor of pollution. What people haven't tho0ught about is that one car pollutes the air less than twenty cars. So, it is more convenient to use public transport instead of their own car, if you think about nature and the air you breathe every second.
Resultat d'imatges de pollution
Another problem are the frequent traffic jams that happen mostly because of careless drivers of the rush hours. No one would like to be in the centre of Barcelona at 8p.m.

People should use public transport more than their own car. First of all because it would be cheaper. Secondly, because it would reduce the pollution rate by approximately 80% and the city would be also less noisy. All these improvements would make our life much easier, because unpolluted air makes our bodies healthier and we can do as much physical effort as usual, but with less energy consumed.

Why people now is less healthier than twenty years ago?

Nowadays, young people are prone to be less healthier than they were twenty years ago and also to suffer a lot of illnesses. These problems are mainly caused by the busy way of life we lead.

Twenty years ago, young people were healthier since, although they did not look their health consciously, they did it by eating food without additives. This was because they lived more quietly, they spent a lot more time in touch with nature as well as, despite not doing sports, they did more physical activities by working than young people do nowadays.

Resultat d'imatges de healthy
In contrast, nowadays a lot of people give more importance to their appearance rather than to their health. Added to this, most of the time they eat fast food and also some of them are not fond of doing sports, so they lead a sedentary life. All of these problems make them be unfit and unhealthy.

To conclude, young people should be able to look after their health since there are lots of medical treatments for curing and preventing illnesses as well as there is more information available than years ago. However, the responsibilities, stress and the lack of time lead us to live aside the care of our health.

The lie, is it necessary in our society?

Of course it is. In fact we can't live in a world without lying as we are not telling the truth every day. A reason that could explain why is the lie necessary is because we want other people feel better. If we told the truth, people wouldn’t be as happy as it is now. For example, if someone that I can't stand comes to me to me and ask me something, I won't tell him that I don't like him. I'll just try to answer the other person's question. So here is an example of lying. If we told the truth we would hurt people. Truth hurts. Another example is related to loving. When someone is having a parallel relationship with someone else that is not his or her girlfriend/boyfriend, this one won't say anything to don't hurt his/her relationship. And once the other get to know what the reality, problems is come. So we prefer living in a world with lies and being happy than telling the truth and offending other people.

Nevertheless, I always try not to lie, but I do. I try not to do it because I wouldn't like people lie to me even if it hurts me.

*Even if we can't live in a world that always tell the truth, we consider the lie as a bad thing. But why's that?
    Resultat d'imatges de LYING
  1. Lying is bad because a generally truthful world is a good thing: lying diminishes trust between human beings.
  2. Lying is bad because it treats those who are lied to as a means to achieve the liar's purpose, rather than as a valuable end in themselves
  3. Lying is bad because it makes it difficult for the person being lied to make a free and informed decision about the matter concerned
  4. Others *
So even if we know lying is bad for us, we still use it because we want to arrange with other people and we try not to look rare

Addiction to Technology

Resultat d'imatges de gameboy color
Game Boy Color
According to the subject (global issue) we have recently done at class, I'm going to talk about one of them: addiction, related to technology. This global issue and especially to social media affects us very much as we spend most of the time with our smartphones.

In my opinion, we are all addicted to technology but with different grades. There is no one that doesn't look at any screen. The ones who were born since 1995 are addicted to any kind of technology. For example, I began being addicted to videogames at 4. I didn’t spend three hours per day playing Pokemon or Pac-Man but I did spend one. So it was my mum who taught me how to use the Game Boy Color. Since I got this video game console, she also got interested in this virtual world. She enjoyed a lot playing Pac-Man, so in her free time she used to play it. So I consider myself a low addicted person in video games. However, I am a high addicted person to social network or just to the smartphone. I spend about four hours per day using my mobile phone. What I usually use is social media (WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram...) but I also play some simple mobile games such as Candy Crush. So this is me, and I'm sure there are lots of teenagers that are in my position.

Resultat d'imatges de addiction of technologyI think we must stop using that much social media because if not we're going to be at "super addicted level". Of course we have to continue using Twitter (or others) to communicate our feelings but nowadays this fact has overpassed the communication of feelings. As I said in others texts, technology simplifies our lives and in this case it's trying to help us to communicate easier with other people. However, it doesn't help as the number of "super addicted people" is increasing considerably per year. I know a person who was in my class at second of ESO who only chatted by using his personal computer. He didn't even say "Hello" in the morning. His brain was living in that virtual world which now he can't get out of it. I'm not saying that technology is not helping at all, because it does help. For example, if we have a question at home of some homework, we only have to write an email to the teacher.

So is not technology's fault, it's our fault. We decide where the limit of consumerism (of addiction) is. And of course we must regulate it in case we don't want to finish as the boy I mentioned before.

Description of my grandpa

He is Manolo. My grandfather is the best grandfather that could exist in the world. When I am with him, time flies, literately. At this moment, he is seventy four years old but he seems a man who is in his sixties. Unfortunately, his physical conditions aren't very good but he tries to do most of the things my sister and I request for. For example, if I want to meet with my friends, he's the one who tries to bring me to wherever I want. Also, my grandpa and I have a special "family ship". We spend most of the time together and we talk about everything without problems.

He is not as tall as I am but he is old. In fact, he is one meter and seventy-nine centimetres, a good height for his age. At this moment he is not thin, he's plump. He doesn't do any kind of exercise (sports) but he does do what my grandma says because if not they argue. The tasks that she order to him aren't tasks like cleaning the washes...they require something else, such as climbing the wall (of a tower- as they live in a home that seems a tower- and painting it. Another task he often does is climbing to the roof (with a ladder) when has rained a lot because there is a space which the water can't fall down and this one produces leaks. So his job is putting out this water.
I don't know whether he is handsome or not because I can't see boys' beauty. However, as my mother says he is very handsome, let's give her the reason.

My grandpa is the kindest person in the world, the most ironic and the most jester. Even if he loves me, he likes teasing me, as I do with him. I treat him as he were one of my closest friends. Also, as most of the grandparents do or had done, he is always explaining amazing stories of him and his past and those moments are incredible. I hope he will live another fifty years to continue being with him.

Manolo loves talking about sex. There is no day that he doesn't mention any kind of words related with sex. Of course, he's always saying things about my girlfriend and I but I doesn't care as I can talk about anything without shame. However, there is a fact that I can't stand and he always do it. He controls me (when we leave school) to see what do I do and what I don't. If he sees something unusual, the first thing he's going to do is tattling my mum of what I had done.

So he is Manolo, an authentic person and the best one. As I said before, I hope he will be with me many years more, as most as possible.

Contratiempo

Contratiempo is a Spanish film directed and written by Oriol Paulo. In this successful film, there are famous Spanish actors like José Coronado or Mario Casas.

Resultat d'imatges de contratiempoAdrián Dora, a successful business owner, is found in a closed room with a corpse. This is why police say that he committed the crime. Nevertheless, he decides to contract the most important witness tutor who helps him to avoiding joining prison.

In my opinion is the best Spanish movie that I've ever seen. At first sight, it may seem that is like another one but it isn't. For me, this film is an example of how suspense films should be. Oriol Paulo had managed to create an incredible story with an amazing end (no spoilers)

Explaining a little what happened in the story (when Adrián explains the facts to his advocate)...

Adrián begins his statement saying that he didn't kill the person who was next to him in the room. He explained how he imagine he could arrive to that room as he can't remember it very well. He tells that he and his lover had a car accident and they killed the other person (of the other vehicle). To hide what had happened, they decided to throw the dead body into a lake. After they had managed to conceal the corpse, their car broke down. So they went into a home where the people who were living there were the parents of the dead person. Once they realized who where them, they left the home and received one message from someone saying that he had seen what had happened and wanted a big amount of money... The story continues but if I continue I would reveal the end so... I shouldn't.

What I liked the most about the film was the plot. As I said before, the proposal of the ideas is incredible. Of course, the actors and actresses did a well job, too. Maybe, for some people the explanation Adrian told could be a bit confusing because in fact, there were undergoing three parallels stories, which only one was true.

According to the bad points, even if it's a Spanish film, I can't see any negative points. I enjoyed a lot when I was watching it.

So, if I had to value this film, I would give them a 9 out of 10 because I think all films and everything can beat themselves.

Autonomous Delivery Robots to Hit Virginia's Streets

Summary

Resultat d'imatges de delivery robots
Autonomous delivery bots will be able to travel on sidewalks in the state of Virginia during the next summer. These robots are designed to deliver parcels within a two-mile radius in 15-30 minutes. This robot weights about 19 Kg and can support about 10 Kg and travels at 4mph. These robots must obey traffic rules and signs and they also must display a plate identifying the owner's name, contact information and as well as unique identifying number.

For precaution, these bots are under supervision: a human is controlling their navigation and operation. To this task, the humans who control them are using an app.

My opinion

As I did in the others "My opinions" I agree on what the Virginia Government has just accepted. I can't see why the other states of EEUU don't accept it. In fact, these robots are simplifying our lives. They are bringing to us things. However, I see a negative point. The use of robots, in all ranges, is putting human jobs out. For me, the law accepted is okay because I'm not working yet, but I'm sure that if I ask someone else (that works) wouldn't think the same as me.

For the other people, the ones that have to receive the goods, it's a good point because they don't need to move from home. Nowadays, we have become lazier because of technology. Technology should improve, of course, but we should keep in mind that affects to us, in employment, I mean.

Some big companies, like Domino's Pizza or Just Eat invented their own robots to bring the food that the people bought. These robots were designed to bring as far as ten hot pizzas before they get cold. In fact, the owners of these big companies are very interested in getting benefits, so, for them, it's better to invest in building a robot that having some stuff delivering pizza and paying them.

Disney Scientists Turned an Entire Metal Room into a Wireless Charger

Summary

Resultat d'imatges de Disney Scientists Turned an Entire Metal Room into a Wireless Charger
Disney doesn't stop in what technology facts refers. They have managed to transform a metal room into a wireless charger. The surprising fact is that this room can boost ten objects at the same time. The objective they wanted to achieve was that they wanted a room where while someone is walking, the battery of your cell phone wouldn't decrease. Also, the room has got furniture which doesn't interfere in the electromagnetic field. Humans can stay there with totally security as the wireless power doesn't overtake the 1.9 kilowatts of power

My opinion

In my opinion, what The Walt Disney Company has managed to develop is absolutely incredible even if there are some devices that can be charged without wires. When I read the title of this news, I was very impacted because sometimes I had thought about it. I have always wanted to be at someplace where you could stay without worrying about the battery of my phone. I think, most of the teenagers have thought about it because when we run out of battery we get bored because we don't what to do.
I hope this creative and useful technology can come to our homes and we can enjoy it.

Disney 'not in the business of scaring kids

Summary

Disney's character Pascal has been recreated as a robot - though it's still in early development
PASCAL
Disney is preparing to use the new technologic knowledge to apply it to their storytelling by using robotics and AI (artificial intelligence). Jon Snoddy, the company's senior Vice President for research and development, told that soon we'll be able to interact with storytelling robots. He also says that AI and machine learning is very important for their job. Their goal is that the robot could move around the guests, which the robot could know where it is going...

Referring to Pascal, Disney has managed to build it as a robot. It's a terrific recreation of the digital character, as it says in the article. They go and do tests to try to understand kids' reactions and find whether if it's a good idea to bring robots to the parks or not.

My opinion
I think the idea of recreating digital characters is awesome. What most of the people want, me included, is seeing these characters in real life and if it's possible to interact with them. So I think, they must go on in this idea because all kids will be more excited to see them. Of course, the creation of this robots will absolutely favour the same Disney Company because lots of people would like to go and to see these new characters (in real life). In this way, they are going to improve their technologic system and also their economic system. I have never been to Disney Land but if they manage to build a robot that seems like the film one, I'd be the first one to buy one ticket to visit it. I'd like to see it because I love robotics and I'd like to work on this so... there is no excuse to go and see!!

Would I like to be famous?

Resultat d'imatges de being famousThis question has always come to our minds at some point of all of us and I'm sure the most of you hadn't thought about it in a seriously way. Well, I've been to both sites tough the answer was in different times of my life. At first, when I was little, I wanted to become a famous professional paddle player. I used to love playing paddle and joining competitions from around the world even if I only played in Catalunya. In fact, there were a few reasons that could explain why I wanted to become famous. The first one is obvious I think. And this is becoming rich. When you're little, you just think: "I want to live in a mansion, the biggest one in the world with lots of delicious food inside and a very wide open garden with enough space to play whatever I want" (or this was what I thought when I was a kid). So well, to achieve these sort of dreams is to think that you need a lot of money and the only way to earn it is becoming famous. Of course, I didn’t even thought about the consequences of being famous. I just wanted the money. But now that I'm older and I've matured (a little) I think the opposite. I wouldn't become a famous character because of these consequences. The first one is related to privacy. Once you are a popular person, you won't be able to live "in peace". There's always a journalist who is controlling what you do and what you let doing. I hate people who is doing it all the time. However, I like people who takes care of me. The second reason that supports the idea is the fact that I don't want to become a professional paddle player anymore. I don't feel like competing, I just want to play to have fun and that's what I do now, actually.

So now that I've commented my past and present opinions I don't know if in the future I would like to become famous. I hope I won't fall in this sort of world that pertains to famous people. But, if for some reason I finally fall in it, I'd try to think about the consequences again and restart the process mentioned before.

Cool hunters

Resultat d'imatges de cool huntersThe Legal Stalkers of Youth Culture talks about the appearance of a new industry called cool hunters who try to introduce ourselves to another new lifestyle with their benefit using some effective marketing strategies. To do it, they advise companies to use some irony in their advices.. This cool hunters make brands feel super important and that’s why lots of teenagers follow them. In fact, we've been arrested by these brands. Nowadays, our name pertains to these important brands. Cool hunters are doing a well job tagging us to "brands' life".

Introducing myself to this text, I'd like to say that I totally agree with it even if I don't like it. As almost every person in this world would do, the cool hunters has provided us a new lifestyle to their own benefit. Of course, then it appears the brands who try to obtain their profits too. I can't say that isn't bad because we people attempt to earn as much money as we can so they are only doing their job. I can't say whether that's good or bad, it's just a fact.

As I said before, brands have stolen our personality because we're not wearing what we really want to wear, we wear what brands want us to wear. The clients always follow fashion trends, just because they don't want to be seem different.
